ANSONIA -- As a city man who says he contracted hepatitis C
while being treated for diabetes at Griffin Hospital in Derby is
receiving treatment, the hospital is remaining silent on the number of
patients who have been found positive for the disease as the result of
staff’s misuse of insulin pens.
Gordon Hayes said he is being treated with “Harvoni,” which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Oct. 10 to treat hepatitis.
Hayes’ wife, Caroline, said a representative from Griffin delivered the medication last week.
